All icons in the Disks and Disks-HD drawers are of the TOOL type instead of DISK type. The reason for this is to make them more easier to view. There are many ways to give a disk or partition a new icon, and below you can find two examples of how it can be done. The following assumes that a Work1 icon is to be installed to drive Work: --+ Method 1 +-- 1. If Work: doesn't already have a real icon present (Disk.info), you must first give it one. This can be achived by using the CreateDefaultIcon tool found in the Extras drawer. After starting it, just select the Work: partition and click OK. 2. Now you can use the RIconCopy script (also found in Extras dir) in order to copy the icon images across. First you select the Source icon (FROM), which in this example is Work1.info, then the Dest icon (TO), which should be the Work:Disk.info file. Finally click the OK button. --+ Method 2 +-- 1. Drag and Drop the Work1 icon into the root of the Work: partition. 2. Make sure that the ProcessIcon command is somewhere in your command search path, then open a new Shell. 3. Enter the following line in Shell for converting the icon to Disk type: ProcessIcon Work:Work1.info SIT Disk 4. If Work: already has a Disk.info file, you must now delete it by typing: Delete Work:Disk.info 5. Now type in the following: Rename Work:Work1.info Work:Disk.info Do have in mind that you may have to choose "Update All" from the Workbench menu for the changes to take effect.
